Brief description of fishery:
Kintbury fishery is a stretch of the Kennet and Avon canal approx. 600 yards in length. Fishing is only permitted from the north bank, extending from a footbridge over a feeder stream at the west end to the Society’s sign about eighty yards below the lock.
The towpath is regularly used by local residents and during the summer months a horse-drawn barge makes regular trips along the length. Members must not leave tackle lying around on the towpath or cause any obstruction to passers-by.
Members are forbidden to carry out any bankside clearing or fish in the entrance to the lock.
Electricity power cables are present. Exercise extreme caution and at all times “Look Out. Look Up!

- Night fishing
- Night fishing is not permitted at Kintbury.
- Close season
- No coarse fishing is allowed between 15th March and 15th June.

This fishery is situated approximately 6 miles west of Newbury and may be reached by following the A4, then taking the well sign-posted road to Kintbury. Kintbury station is alongside the fishery.
