Stanford End stocking
We had a very productive day at Stanford End yesterday . Myself , Alan Muller and Ian Campbell arrived early to carry out some essential maintenance . We mowed the path, tidied up the swims and removed a large number of fallen trees and branches from the river.
Just after lunchtime the Environment Agency arrived with 200 each of roach, chub, dace and 500 barbel from the fish farm at Calverton. With the assistance of Wellington Estate we got the truck as close as possible and carried the fish to the river above the weir. The barbel have all been marked with blue dye and it will be interesting to know if any are caught in the future. Please let us know the rough location if you do catch one
.
All in all it was a very satisfying day and fantastic to see the Fish going into the Loddon . Many thanks to the EA for making this happen ![]()
