There was a good flow, but there could have been a bit more colour. I fished a float rod and trotted maggots. It was a bit slow to start with, but then I started to get a few bites. I was getting some nice dace, when it went very quite. It was completely dead, I couldn’t get any bites. I walked up to Alan muller, and he said the same no bites . I went back to my swim, and on the far bank there was a tree in the river. There was a lot of movement and bubbles. Then I saw what was causing the movement. It was the biggest dog otter, that I have ever seen. No wonder it was very quiet, with that in your swim. That killed it for the rest of the day.
