Dear Colleague

Following the Grand Opening of the new Kennet Coarse Fish Hatchery on Friday Feb 16 we have put together this short video of the day and the build process. Please feel free to circulate to your members and anyone else who might be interested.

Lord Richard Benyon kindly did the honours and we were pleased to welcome guests from the Environment Agency, the Institute of Fisheries Management, the Angling Trust, the Wild Trout Trust, Kennet Valley Fisheries Assoc, Thames Water, Newbury AA, CALPAC, Civil Service AS, Wasing Estate and the Red Spinners. These partner clubs and fisheries, with whom will be working, are crucial to making this project a success and give the Kennet a fishing future. I think it’s fair to say that everyone who came was incredibly impressed at the achievements of Del, Jim and the team whose hard work has made this dream a reality.

There are still a few places left on the three Hatchery Open Days on the following Saturdays – 24th February, 2nd & 9th March at 10am, 11.30 and 1pm. Coffee, Tea and refreshments on sale with all proceeds to hatchery fund. Book a place at – kennethatchery@gmail.com
