RFA January Pike match

Congratulations to Pete Freeman who had this very healthy 14 pound pike to win today’s match, picking up first place and the £100 Lossenham prize to boot.

Thanks to Tim and the Estate for making it possible.

The weather has been very unkind of late but the Hexden Channel had calmed down and so the nine anglers fished there, as the second photo shows.

The Rother itself was still unfishable so it was the Hexden we used.

We’ve all had better days, and although my inability to keep hold of draw numbers raised a laugh or two,  this was the only fish caught, but it is a cracker, and if the river carries on fining down then the next match (4th. February) will be on the main Rother, and (as the last match there proved) there will most likely be many more fish caught.

As always, keep an eye on your e-mails in the days preceding 4th Feb for any updates, and I hope to see many of you there, then.

Always room for more entrants so by all means pass this on and remind people to give me their e-mail address so everyone can have the same information.
