RFA charity pike matches
The RFA is going to arrange three charity-supporting pike fishing days following a very generous offer made by the landowner of the river adjacent to the RFA length at Newenden. Each day will be a chance for RFA members to fish a length of river with great potential. Parking is within yards of the river. Each day will be run as a pegged pike match, the draw will be at 8am, with fishing from 9am – 3pm. Two rods allowed, no live fish to be used as bait (RFA Rules apply.)
The entry fee will be £15 per person per day, from which £10 per angler will be donated to one of three charities. The other £5 will go into a pool, paying out 50% first, 30% second, 20% third on each day, cash. There will also be a separate (voluntary) pool of £10 for each match which will be allocated in the same proportions.
In addition, the landowner has very generously offered to give a cash prize of £250 on each day to the captor of the biggest pike. Yes, you read that correctly – £250 cash. That’s £750 in total.
The RFA will offer an additional prize in each match of £25 for the person with the biggest weight caught, and another £25 for the person with the smallest fish on the day!
