Welcome to the Civil Service Angling Society website

Important - Please read

The following text is part of an email from Ian Campbell.

We are a fairly flexible society and manage to get by without recourse to the rules, so it is a pity that the selfish behaviour of a few members at Windsor is causing us to consider making a rule change at the next annual general meeting.

Fraser tells me that one or two members are hogging swims at Windsor and causing bad feeling amongst other members - it was one of the reasons Mic Foot left. These members have had their good natures appealed to with no success - 'nothing in the rules and I've baited it'.

Reluctantly, therefore, I think we have to bring in length of stay rules, similar to Ellis/Sheepwalk, which are, briefly, 48 hour limit with 24 hour gap. Mid-week, 72 hours. Between 1 November and 31 March (14th at Windsor, obviously) 72 hours."

Thank you for visiting the Civil Service Angling Society web site. The following pages will give you some insight to what the Society is about, available fisheries, membership costs, how to join and contact numbers should you have any queries.

The CSAS owns or rents a variety of fisheries around London and the Home Counties. These fisheries cater for all types of angling whether specimen hunting, match angling, pleasure fishing or fly fishing and all are regularly maintained to provide easy access and relatively snag free swims. Details of the fisheries can be obtained by clicking on Fisheries Full membership is open to Civil Servants, whether serving or retired on pension, i.e. anyone who is an employee in a government department or agency, Royal Mail, BT, and other public bodies such as museums, research councils and Environment Agency, companies carrying out ex-civil service work and any other bodies affiliated to CSSC Sports and Leisure. There are a limited number of places for associate membership for those who are not eligible for full membership (at times there may be a waiting list).

Full and associate members may also obtain membership for their spouse, whether or not he or she is eligible for full membership. Junior Facility Tickets are available for dependant children (between 11 and 18 years of age, providing they are in full time education) of full and associate members. The sponsoring member must accompany such children on all visits to Society waters. Further membership joining details can be obtained by clicking on Joining.

Angling Society full members must be subscribing members  of CSSC Sports and Leisure. Membership can be arranged through the Society or directly with the CSSC Sports &  Leisure via their website - Linked Membership
